Serving Ela is a group of individuals dedicated to serving our community who recognize that residents and taxpayers must be at the core of the decisions the Township makes. Our goal is to lead Ela Township forward by bringing together the proven success of current Ela Township Officials with that of a fresh strategic approach offered by a diverse group of community leaders.

Fiscal Responsibility

Ela Township has maintained strong financial standing and saved taxpayer dollars through thoughtful strategic planning and saving, without a need for borrowing. This is evidenced by the purchase of land to develop into practice fields for our area's ever growing youth athletic needs and holding the line on the recent tax levy. Serving Ela will maintain this focus and build on it as financial conditions change in the years ahead.

Balanced Budgeting

For too many years, governments small and large have put taxpayers at risk by spending more than they have today, without planning for tomorrow. Serving Ela will ensure Ela Township continues to focus on spending within our means by passing balanced budgets and continuing to do more with less.

This is why despite being only 1.8% of your property tax bill, Serving Ela is committed to keeping costs down by looking for opportunities to continue to reduce expenses through intergovernmental agreements, community partnerships and prudently examining the value and cost of services.

improve services for residents in a discerning and responsible manner. Additionally, the Assessor's office will continue to assist and educate the public about the property tax assessment process as it continues to be an unwavering advocate for local property taxpayers.

Modernizing Township Records and Financials

Many Illinois Townships continue to operate on outdated systems which makes Township Government less efficient and harder for residents to access information and services. Current officials have digitized Township records, updating our financial software to improve efficiency and developed a new website that enhances access to information and services.
